The film was shot in 16 days at Mangaluru. The diction of Mangaluru Kannada is used in this film. it is not for creating comedy like how it is done in other Kannada films. The grace and grandeur of the diction is important in this film.

It is after audition of 53 persons one of the team members rightly observed that director Raj could do the role of Janardhan, Kannada teacher. He had requirements of thin hair, perfect in speaking Mangaluru Kannada. Finally he was fit in to the role. For underplaying the role Raj B Shetty prepared in his own style in fifteen days, the sacred thread, specks, slippers and clothes for the role made him to behave like Janardhan character of the film.

After preparation of the film Pawan Kumar of Lusia, U Turn has come to support. That support has made the producer safe. Ondu Motteya Kathe` is screened at New York Film Festival premiere show. After screening in a few more film festivals, it is coming for Kannada audience to watch in theatres.
