Late Om Puri's ex-wife Nandita Puri has faulted the lack of adequate facilities in Kolkata for the untimely and shocking demise of playback singer KK. The singer was 53 when he died of heart failure on Tuesday.
In her Facebook post, Nandita shamed West Bengal and said that Kolkata has killed KK. She alleged that the government is covering its failures by announcing a state farewell. As per her, the auditorium where KK gave a performance minutes before his death had a capacity of only 2,500. However, as many as 7,000 spectators were allowed to get in, Nandita alleged.
The place had failed air conditioning, she said. This is something media reports, too, have said. "The singer perspiring profusely complained four times to no avail. No paramedics were on the spot. No first aid was given. Crucial moments lost," she added.
Nandita has demanded a CBI enquiry. "Bollywood should boycott performing in Bengal till then," she added.
