Om 3D
Om 3D, the much touted 3D visual effects extravaganza from Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is to hit screens tomorrow, finally. After several postponements owing to financial troubles, this movie is seeing light on the 19th July. Kalyan Ram, the third generation Nandamuri scion is not just acting but also producing this film which has cost him 25 Cr. The movie is just the second straight 3D film in Telugu after the recent 'Action 3D'.
Preamble: While many directors world over agree 3D is a great tool to influence emotions like any other tool in film making like lighting, performance, sound, atmosphere etc, the question still remains unanswered, 'does 3D connect with the viewer as much in Live Action films as in animation films' Live action 3D films came in genres like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Supernatural etc but not many films in the mainstream superstar action movies. So, the idea of spending on 3D for a typical Telugu action entertainer is no doubt brave but is it viable. Om 3D will answer the same.
What this film has to offer: The trailer looks intense and has generated interest, different from typical Telugu action flicks. Debutant Sunil Reddy has already shown his 3D storytelling skills with the designer axes and saw blades and tyres hitting the camera's right and left. Soundtracks by Achu are decent and will be better known once the film gets going. Kalyan Ram has experimented with his looks, even shaved his head and looks raring to go. The trailer promises a serious film with some father connected sentiment.
The movie has garnered enough curiosity among the fans and normal movie goers with news of Rajinikanth watching the movie and praising the same. So, expectations from Kalyan Ram to perform, both as the hero and the producer are sky high. Wait to watch the same tomorrow. Wish the unit all the best.
