The Olympic games were supposed to happen in 2020 but procrastinated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it is scheduled to happen at Japan's capital Tokyo between 23rd July and 8th August of 2021.
Over 120 Indians were selected to participate in this edition of the Olympics. And 11 of them were from Tamilnadu. Universal Hero Kamal Haasan has met the Tamilnadu players through video call and wished them the best, yesterday. He interacted with the athletes Revathi Veeramani, Suba Venkatesan, Dhanalakshmi Sekar, Arokia Rajeev, and Naganathan Pandi.
Kamal said "You people are real Ulaga Naaygargal (Universal Heroes), who emerged as champions despite the fact that poverty is lying at your doorstep. You are involved in an endeavour that will drive the world to look at India. Even a large empire will last only for 500 years. Poverty is also the same. Poverty will run away when a skilled person makes up one's mind. You are not just a gold medal but the gold mine of India. You should teach your skills to others. It is your duty to pass on your gift."
The genius actor said that they should let go of nervousness and face the game with a steady mind. Also added that they should respect the game as much as they respect themselves. He concluded by saying, "We are eager to wish you on the success when you return with victory".
On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for Vikram helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, co-starring Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi.
