Neeraj Chopra on August 7 became India's first Olympic gold winner in athletics and only the second from the nation to win the top prize in an the individual event at the Games after Abhinav Bindra (2008 Beijing Games) who bagged the gold in the 10m Air Rifle shooting event in China.
The life story of Champion Neeraj Chopra who made India proud is all set to be made as a film. Kannada film producer Arun Roy Thodar who is currently producing a film that traces the long history of the Kambala race in Karnataka and the life of Tulu people confirmed the news to the fans.
But earlier in an interview when a question was shot towards Neeraj on his biopic he stated, "Don’t make a biopic on me yet. I’m still playing (the sport), and would like to continue doing so. I believe there are more stories to be added to my journey,(for the biopic). I want to focus on my game. I’d like it if a biopic is made on me, but after my journey is over and I retire from sports!"
The 23 years old farmer’s son from Khandra village near Panipat in Haryana, produced a throw of 87.58m on his second attempt in the finals to stun the athletics world and end India’s 100-year dream for a track and field medal in the Olympics. He became an overnight sensation and also gained millions of followers on Instagram.
