Olivia Rodrigo, the genius artist behind the mega-hit single "Vampire," has announced that some of the funds collected from her shows during her current tour, the "Guts World Tour," will go to various abortion advocacy groups. The pop star announced on Instagram Tuesday that the proceeds from her Houston show would be donated to three pro-abortion groups.
In her Instagram story, Rodrigo noted that the funds would help women who travel from out of state for their abortions with travel, accommodation, and other support. The organizations she tagged included, but were not limited to, the following: the National Network of Abortion Funds; Fund Texas Choice; and Jane's Due Process, all organization leaders who seek to eliminate the economic and logistical obstacles that prevent women from having an abortion.
Rodrigo also urged her supporters to donate directly to The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equality, a Texas-based group that provides financial and emotional assistance to people seeking abortions in the Lone Star State.
This is not the first time Rodrigo has publicly supported abortion rights. After the Ujsonp in 2022 reconsidered Roe v. Wade, Rodrigo teamed up with Lily Allen during a performance at the Glastonbury music festival and reportedly dedicated the song by Allen, "F--- You," to the justices on the conservative-controlled Court.
During the performance, Rodrigo addressed the justices by name, expressing her disdain for their decision. Her recent announcement about supporting abortion advocacy groups aligns with her past activism and continues to highlight her commitment to reproductive rights.
