Score one for Allah. THR reports that Sean Stone, son of controversial filmmaker Oliver Stone (pictured right), converted to Islam today, joining the likes of Cat Stevens, Kool & the Gang's Robert ""Kool"" Bell, and other high-profile entertainment-industry luminaries who've elected to follow the dictates of Muhammed since the religion first took off in 632.

Stone, who will henceforth go by the first name Ali, converted in a ceremony in Isfahan, Iran, where, according to THR, he is currently shooting a documentary. Ironically, Ali's father Oliver had once sought to make his own documentary in Iran, one centering on the country's lovably hyperbolic president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but was rebuffed.

Oliver Stone's next film, the narcotics thriller Savages, opens September 28, 2012.
