Bengaluru Ola cab driver, Somashekar (30), picked up four customers in Adugodi at around 11.30 pm on Friday and was on his way when one of the unidentified men pulled out a knife and held it to the driver’s throat demanding him to drive outside of the city.
The terrified driver did as he was asked to. They asked him to stop at Channapatna, where they allegedly took his ATM card, held the knife to his throat again, and demanded to know the PIN number. They withdrew all of his savings (Rs 20,000) from his bank account and apparently took him to a lodge in Channapatna where they locked him up in a room. He escaped out of there through a window and reached the Channapatna Police Station where he recounted the story.
He was asked to file the complaint at the Adugodi Police Station since he picked up the men in Adugodi. An FIR is yet to be registered, following which the men will be tracked down after the details of the customer are obtained from Ola, apparently.
