As per latest media reports, Saif Ali Khan will likely to lose his Padma Shri, which was bestowed on him in 2010. Of late the actor has come under scanner, with the Government considering withdrawing the honour in view to legal charges against him.

In March 2014 a complaint had been filed by RTI activist S C Agrawal, demanding that Saif should be stripped of the Padma Award, in regard to the infamous scuffle between Saif and NRI businessman at a Mumbai restaurant couple of years back. Saif and two of his friends were charged then charged under Section 325 (assault) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. They had pleaded not guilty after the metropolitan court in Mumbai read out the charges to them in March.

Agrawal`s complaint was filed with Union Minister, who as of now stated that "the matter is under examination".
