Amidst rumours that Telangana is in for a major, blanket lockdown very soon, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Monday said that there are no plans to impose one. He was speaking to the press to announce some guidelines pertaining to testing and treatment by private labs/hospitals for Covid-19.
This should put to end all fears that CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is going to force everyone to lock themselves up. There might be rigorous restrictions in containment zones, but a hardcore lockdown is not going to be there.
More details about the future course of action will be known soon. PM Narendra Modi, too, is not in favour of an onerous lockdown, not in Mumbai, not in Delhi, not in Hyderabad. In fact, on Monday afternoon, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that there are no plans to impose a lockdown in the capital city.
