There have been speculations that Mammootty's much talked about project Masterpiece will hit the theatres in November. Now, the latest that we hear is the Masterpiece team is looking for a festive season to release the movie. 

The film's scriptwriter Udayakrishna has recently revealed that Masterpiece will be a Christmas release. He also revealed that the movie is nearing to complete its post-production works. "It also gives us time for the post-production as the movie has a lot of expectations and all of us want to live up to it," said Udayakrishna in a recent interview to a popular newspaper. 

Touted to be an out-and-out campus thriller directed by Ajai Vasudev, Masterpiece features Mammootty in the role of Edward Livingstone, a strict teacher. Masterpiece also has Santhosh Pandit, Gokul Suresh, Unni Mukundan, Mukesh, Salim Kumar,  Maqbool Salmaan, Kailash, Kalabhavan Shah John and many others in the key roles. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Mahima Nambiar will appear in the female leads. Udhayakrishna, fresh from the success of Pulimurugan, has scripted this movie which is produced by CH Muhammed for the banner Royal Cinemas.
