Noted scriptwriter and filmmaker, Lohitadas is keenly awaiting the release of his debut Tamil venture Kastoorimaan. It was first made in Malayalam, with the same title, starring Kunchacko Boban and Meera Jasmine. The Tamil version has Meera Jasmine in the female lead again.

With the film carrying good reports even before its release, Lohithadas takes time out to speak about the reasons for his Tamil venture.

'I had offers to make films in Tamil before, but I was busy with Malayalam cinema. I also felt that if I didn't know the language and culture well, I wouldn't be able to make a film in that language. Later, I realized there was no difference between human emotions; they are universal. The story of Kastoorimaan too is universal'.

Asked about the rumors that he would be doing a film with Vikram in Tamil, Lohithadas says, 'I had initially thought of making a film with Vikram, but the problem with me is I can't narrate a story to any hero. I can only write a script. In Malayalam, I need not narrate a story to any actor. They know what I am capable of.'

‘Though Meera Jasmine played the role again in Tamil, she did add something new. She understood the sensitivity of the character and gave her best, Lohithadas says and adds, 'if the film clicks I would be doing more in Tamil'.
