With Kattrukenna Veli, director Pughazhendi Thangaraj made his debut. However, the film never saw light of the day and was entangled in lot of controversy. Now, he is back, with Ulla Kadathal. Unlike his earlier venture, the director has this time chosen to make film whose story is based on love and affection between a brother and sister.

The movie stars Vignesh in the lead role. After Soori, which won him rave reviews for his performance, Vignesh now plays a loving brother in Ulla Kadathal.

Actress Kutty Radhika, who made her debut in the national award-winning Iyyarkai plays his sister. Yughendran, Priyadharshini and Suja are also in the cast.

Bharadwaj has scored the music while Pavan Shankar has handled the cinematography.

The movie was shot at Ooty and Munnar and is nearing completion.
