The music composition of Mohanlal's much-anticipated movie 'Odiyan' has finally started. It was Mohanlal who took to their Facebook handle to share the pictures and video of the music composing sessions. With the lyrics penned by Rafeeq Ahamed and Lakshmi Sreekumar, the music department is handled by M Jayachandran.

'Odiyan', which is expected to be one of the costliest projects ever made in the history of Malayalam cinema, is directed by VA Shrikumar Menon, who will also be helming Mohanlal prestigious project Randamoozham/Mahabharata.

The film is set in the pre-electricity days and is the story of the Odiyans, who are primarily employed to scare people in the dark by dressing themselves as some animal. In the movie, Mohanlal plays the last surviving Odiyan in the State. Odiyan will have Manju Warrier in the female lead along with Prakash Raj in an important role.

Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Odiyan will be shot at the various locations of Palakkad, Pollachi, Udumalpet, Banaras, and Hyderabad. The team is planning to start the shooting of 'Odiyan' by the second week of July 2017.
