While there have been many indications that the central government will announce the extension of the nationwide lockdown after 21 days, Odisha has become the first state government to officially announce lockdown extension.
Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has announced the extension of the state lockdown till April 30, and has also decided to close schools and educational institutions till June 17.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik also said that the Odisha state government has suggested the central government to extend the nationwide lockdown till April 30. Earlier PM Narendra Modi had on March 24 announced 21 days lockdown.
