O. Panneer Selvam is one of the faces from the AIADMK after the late Selvi J. Jayalalitha who the people can easily identify. Having been in the shadows of the mighty J for a number of years the Jallikattu issue and the rise of the people power, no doubt poses a huge challenge to him.

Now that OPS is in Delhi and the PM, Modi has not really been of any big help to him in the tumultuous time, the CM is in discussion with the TN legal team to probe the possibilities of conducting the Jallikattu by the state government itself. The CM has come to be ridiculed in the social media and by the protesters for inaction, and this is probably a lifetime opportunity for him to prove otherwise. If he risks, conducting the Jallikattu he may be in danger of facing legal and constitutional issues. But on the other hand, if he does go ahead and risk his all to achieve for the Tamil people he will forever find a place in history and most importantly in the hearts of the masses. Tomorrow is an important day in the life of the CM whose decision could win the Tamil people and change his image and political career forever.
