People in Agra are enraged at a New York Times article on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in which he is depicted as the head of a militant group of Hindus.

The ascetic is seen by some as a symbol of development, much like the Prime Minister, while some others are of the opinion that only one community will be favoured. Rubbishing such ideas, Secretary Ziauddin said that the Yogi`s image has undergone tremendous transformation and that the NYT article exhibits anti-Modi agenda.

Activist Amir Qureshi said that there is in fact a communal harmony in the country and that individual incidents should not be considered as an example of India becoming a Hindu country.
