Nupur Sanon, sister of Kriti Sanon is making her entry into Tollywood in a spectacular way, romancing Mass Raja Ravi Teja in his first pan-India entertainer Tiger Nageswara Rao. The film was directed by Vamsee and is bankrolled by Abhishek Agarwal in a prestigious way on Abhishek Agarwal Arts. The film is slated for a grand release on 20 October 2023 and Nupur Sanon interacted with the scribes and shared her experience on South debut.
Congrats on your debut and can you tell about her role in the film?
I play the role of a Marvadi Girl Sara and so I get to deliver dialogues in Hindi though most of my dialogues are in Telugu. She is expressive and soulful and goes to any extent if she believes and this connected well with my real-life character.
you have been trying for different roles till three years. How did you get it.
I have done Filhall and the second part Mohabatt will soon come. I am lucky that I got an opportunity that expanded by reach multiple times. I have done a film with Nawazuddin Siddique. The film which was supposed to be released early, got postponed and now is releasing in December. In between I also did a webseries Popcorn.
About the Role in Tiger Nageswara Rao
It was not like I was desperately looking for a role and I was unaware of it. But in my heart, I craved to do the role which has all commercial elements. My role in this film has a romance with hero running after the heroine to woo her and apart from it, got scope for performance.
What made you to do the project?
Ravi Teja, obviously. When I was told that I would be paired opposite Mass Raja Ravi Teja, I got to know that it will be a huge project. Then with Abhishek Agarwal associating with the project, I felt I was in safe hands. When Vamsee narrated the story and once he told that he auditioned 200 people for the role, I felt very happy that he shortlisted me. I loved the script and the story and felt very lucky.
How did you prepare for the periodic film and the role
When I came to know that it was 70s backdrop, my director Vamsee was very particular even about minute details. This generation girls are modern but Sara the role I felt was modern and at the same time traditional and she showed anger through eyes. I placed myself in the hands of Vamsee and I blindly followed him as he remarked that I am a Pataka. Did you take any inputs from your sister Kriti Sanon
I am happy that Kriti had a great journey in Tollywood and I love to have a similar journey. She knows that we both are different. She asked me to be myself and not try to imitate others. I used to review Kriti's films and I used to be quite critical. Now that Tiger Nageswara Rao is released, Kriti will be ready with her guns. She did films with top stars like Mahesh Babu, Naga Chaitanya and also Prabhas.
Experience with Ravi Teja
I have watched all the films of Ravi Teja. The dialogue and his comic timing are very good. I was amazed by the love showered by fans. He is apt as Mass Maharaja. He told me that I would also get the same love and affection. I loved his Hindi and it is so perfect. I am learning Telugu and Ravi Teja helped a lot. He is very selfless and always thinks about the film as a whole.
On Tiger Nageswara Rao clash with her sister Kriti Sanon Ganpath
I am unaware of the box office calculations. It all depends on all the production houses.
About South Industry
I heard that South Industry is very well organized and it have witnessed and I am extremely happy that they are giving the same treatment for all the actors irrespective of their experience. This is why South films is now making waves concept-wise and technically. I watched the first Telugu film Magadheera.
My favourite actors
My favorite actors are Sai Pallavi, Keerthy Suresh, and Anushka Shetty. I became Fidaa of Fidaa.
