Nun from Mother Teresa's charity accused of selling children

A nun who works for the Missionary of Charities centre founded by Mother Teresa has been arrested in relation to child trafficking. The Indian Child Welfare Committee stated that their investigations reveal the selling of a baby to a couple from Uttar Pradesh for a sum of Rs.1,20,000.
Reportedly, the baby was born on March 19 and and sold through the black market to the couple on May 14. The nun who engaged in this activity has been identified as Concilia and has been placed under judicial custody by the court.
Meanwhile, officials from the charity has expressed their shock and disappointment over the news stating that it was totally against its moral conviction. It also affirmed that it is deeply looking into the matter and will not let another similar incident happen like this.
It is also worth mentioning here that child trafficking in India will lead to a ten year sentence in prison.
