It appears that Yash Chopra too has developed a penchant for numerology.

The name of his latest venture "Veer Zaara" was meticulously planned after deriving the names of the two protagonists, Veer Pratap Singh (played by Shah Rukh Khan) and Zaara Hayaat Khan (Preity Zinta), reports Bollywood Trade.

Even the spellings of the three principal characters - Veer, Zaara and Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukherjee) - were arrived at after working at their numerological quotient.

So Veer was spelt with a double 'e', and Zaara, Hayaat and Saamiya with a double 'a'.

The move seems to have paid dividends. The odd spellings generated enough curiosity before the movie, and less than a week into its launch, the film is already set to become a hit.
