It was on this day (May 11) in 2012 that 'Gabbar Singh' hit the screens. In this special feature, we give you some exciting info around the Summer blockbuster.
Story:
Despite being a 'Dabangg' remake, the audience never saw it as an unexciting one. It had more buzz than the straight films that Pawan Kalyan had been doing for years.
The mass entertainer established the standing of Power Star as the Numero Uno star of his generation once and for all. It grossed big time.
The film would have enriched Pawan had he produced it as originally planned. But Bandla Ganesh requested him to give him the opportunity to bankroll the film. Things changed.
The Antyakshari comedy scene became a trend-setter without a doubt. Credit goes to Harish Shankar and his fellow writers for conceiving a scene where Power Star shows swag and eccentricity.
Pawan had an intuition about this film ending the streak of flops. "During the interval of 'Kushi', something in me told me bad days were upon me. I couldn't sit in the preview theatres. I felt I had lost hunger. I regained my strength only during the making of a police station scene in 'Gabbar Singh'," Pawan said in 2017.
Many fans see 'Gabbar Singh' as a God-send for Pawan. He was destined to do the Harish Shankar directorial. It gave him his energy back. And his legions of fans got their energy back, too!
