While promoting his highly anticipated pan-India action drama *Devara* in Chennai, NTR sparked excitement with a daring request that quickly set social media on fire. During a press conference alongside the film’s team, including music composer Anirudh, the actor made an open appeal to his favorite director, Vetrimaaran, expressing his desire to collaborate on a straight Tamil film.
NTR’s bold declaration, "I am going to ask my favorite director... Vetrimaaran sir, please do one with me," received an overwhelming response, with thunderous applause erupting from the audience. This move not only showcased NTR’s deep admiration for Vetrimaaran’s gritty, raw storytelling but also hinted at his ambition to expand his presence in Tamil cinema.
Vetrimaaran, known for his critically acclaimed films that seamlessly blend realism with gripping narratives, has previously emphasized that his collaborations are driven purely by the demands of the script rather than star power. This selective approach has earned him a distinct place in Indian cinema, with every project carefully crafted to suit his unique vision.
The prospect of a collaboration between NTR and Vetrimaaran has already ignited fans' imaginations. However, it's worth noting that past Tamil-Telugu crossovers between star actors and directors haven’t always lived up to expectations. For this partnership to succeed, it would require a story that aligns with both NTR's larger-than-life persona and Vetrimaaran's signature style of filmmaking.
As speculation mounts, the industry and fans alike await to see whether this dynamic duo will come together to create a groundbreaking cinematic experience that resonates with audiences across both Tamil and Telugu territories. Only time will tell if Vetrimaaran will accept NTR's challenge and craft a masterpiece for the ages.
In the meantime, expectations are soaring on his upcoming action entertainer Devara which is releasing in two parts. The first part is releasing on 27 September 2024 and NTR is busy promoting the film across the country. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and Saif Ali Khan in key roles under the direction of Koratala Shiva.
