NTR Jr may be happy that his career is now becoming much more rounded.

But he should be unhappy that he himself is becoming rounded.

When world over the norm is for heroes to look spindly and reedy, NTR is going the other way round, and looking bloated.

Though he has always been an actor with extra flab, the avoirdupois shows up sharply now that he is a top hero.

NTR Jr's family is not only the most influential but also the most weighty (literally, at that) in Tollywood. Except for Taraka Ratna (who looks lean and gawky) most of the actors from the family starting with NTR himself down to Balakrishna and Harikrishna have been richly endowed --- with flesh, that is.

But in these figure conscious times, NTR Jr cannot afford to look the way he does now. Already there are pungent remarks about why he never tucks in his shirt (lest his paunch will show).

To be fair, NTR Jr is sprightly and zestful despite his bulk. He is robust in fights and dances with rare gusto.

Yet, the news from the market is that NTR Jr has to shed weight are he may soon have wait in the sheds, so to say.

The actor is also said to be conscious of the weighty problem. He has vowed, according to news reports, he is going to cut down on his weight. He actually did that at the start of his career. But soon fell back on old ways.

But now the pressure is real and more pressing. He has to add weight to his films and not himself.

Actually, a lean and mean NTR Jr will be more than a handful for his rivals.

Hopefully, NTR Jr has that figured that out.
