NTR, Allu Arjun, Nani takes strong exception to Konda Surekha's demeaning remarks

The Telugu film industry has risen in unison to condemn Telangana Congress Minister Konda Surekha's controversial remarks linking Bharat Rashtra Samithi Chief KT Rama Rao to the separation of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Several A-list actors, including Jr. NTR, Nani, and Amala Akkineni, have taken to social media to express their outrage at the minister's comments, denouncing them as baseless, irresponsible, and harmful.

Jr. NTR, known for his role in the film Devara, addressed Surekha directly on X, stating, Dragging personal lives into politics is a new low. Public figures, especially those in responsible positions, must maintain dignity and respect for privacy. He went on to condemn the careless dissemination of baseless statements, particularly those targeting the film industry, emphasizing the need for respect for boundaries and a rejection of such reckless behavior in a democratic society.

Icon Star Allu Arjun has expressed his unwavering support for actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu amidst a barrage of malicious allegations made by Telangana Minister Konda Surekha regarding her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. Surekha's baseless claims, which falsely implicated KTR in the couple's separation, have ignited widespread outrage and condemnation.

In a powerful statement, Arjun denounced Surekha's comments as baseless, derogatory, and disrespectful, emphasizing that such behavior is a gross violation of Telugu cultural values. He urged all parties involved to act with responsibility and respect individual privacy, particularly that of women. Arjun concluded by calling for a societal shift towards promoting respect, dignity, and civility.

Actor Nani, known for his versatile roles, echoed similar sentiments, stating, It is not okay for someone in such a respectable position to talk such utter baseless rubbish in front of media and think that it is okay. Veteran actor Amala Akkineni, wife of Nagarjuna, expressed her shock and outrage at Surekha's comments in a strongly worded statement, condemning them as evil fictitious allegations and a preying on decent citizens as fuel for a political war. She further accused Surekha of relying on scandalous stories without shame or truth and demanded an apology from the minister.

Amala also appealed to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to restrain his politicians from making such comments and ensure Surekha retracts her statements with an apology to the family.

Joining the chorus of condemnation, Tamil actor, BJP member, and National Commission for Women chief Khushbu Sundar also expressed her dismay on X, calling Surekha's comments a disgrace to womanhood and a baseless, appalling and degrading statement about the film industry. She demanded an apology from the minister, emphasizing that the film industry will no longer be a mute spectator to such abuse.

The industry's united response highlights the gravity of the situation and underscores the need for responsible public discourse, particularly from individuals in positions of power. The incident has sparked a call for accountability and respect for personal boundaries, with the film industry standing strong against malicious and unsubstantiated claims.
