KC Chekuri, an NRI Telugu who headed the TANA in the past, has come out strongly against Dr. Mohan Babu. It's known that Mohan Babu is protesting against the AP government's alleged "delay in releasing funds for fee reimbursement". He has involved the students of Sri Vidyaniketan, whose proprietor he is.
"Let me ask Mohan Babu garu how he thinks it is fair to involve children in a political issue. He has said that his school students helped Chandrababu Naidu in the past and that they will now help Jagan. Will the students' parents keep quiet?" Chekuri asks in a video clip doing the rounds on the Internet.
"How can you involve students in dharnas? You are alleging that the CM has not got this or that right. What do you know about how governments function? Don't make an assault on Andhra Pradesh. You live in Hyderabad and be happy there. If you want to do good for the people of AP, they will definitely welcome you. The relationship between people and government should be like fish and water, but not like fish and fisherman," Chekuri says, paraphrasing Mohan Babu's famous line from 'Pedarayudu'.
"You are related to Jaganmohan Reddy. If you want to support him, do it openly. Don't shoot from the shoulders of students. Don't play with their future," he says.
"Way back in 2011, Mohan Babu came to the US and visited places like Dallas to collect funds for the welfare of poor kids. I and several other NRIs actively worked for securing funds for him. Something like Rs 2 Cr was collected. To this day, there is no accountability as to what happened to those funds. Has Mohan Babu ever been answerable?" he asks.
