There were reports that Vikram, after Majaa, would act in the Tamil remake of Malayalam hit Chandupottu which starred Dileep in the lead role.

His Majaa, a remake of Malayalam hit Thommanum Makkalum got released this Deepavali. Unfortunately the movie has had only an average response at the box-office.

Even in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu dubbing too had a lukewarm response. Especially when compared to Anniyan, Majaa has put up a mediocre show at the theatres.

Now all these seem to have prompted Vikram to think twice before commencing Chandupottu in Tamil.

As of now, he has decided to do a commercial entertainer now for Surya Movies to be directed by Lingusamy. Only if the movie clicks well and completes a successful run, Vikram would think about commencing the remake, say sources close to the actor.
