MVS Haranatha Rao, who penned dialogues for about 150 films, is no more. He died on Monday due to old age.

A prolific playwright, script-writer and even actor, Rao is noted for his critically-acclaimed works such as 'Pratighatana', 'Bharata Nari', 'Anna', and 'Ammayi Kapuram'. For these films, he was given the prestigious Nandi Award.

Creatively associated with acclaimed director T Krishna, Rao betrayed his literary bent of mind as the writer of such films as 'Swayamkrushi' and 'Sutradharulu'. He was famously seen in 'Rakshasudu' and 'Swayamkrushi'.

Hailing from Guntur, he penned a number of stage plays as well.

IndiaGlitz condoles Haranatha's death. May he attain 'Sadgati'.
