Pawan Kalyan has given the nod to remake Ajith-starrer Vedalam. This will be directed by SJ Suryah, who was widely reported to have zeroed in on a sequel to Khushi first and a remake of Veeram next.

This is most likely to be produced by AM Ratnam. The film belongs to action-drama genre. Many years after Annavaram, Pawan is doing a film with sister sentiment as a key element. In the original, Ajith's sister was played by Lakshmi Menon. It will be interesting to see as to whether she will reprise herself or some familiar face will be chosen for the role in the Telugu remake.

Vedalam was a run-away hit. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the film opened to the biggest ever opening in the history of Tamil cinema. Will Pawan and Suryah manage to repeat the feat? Wait and watch..
