While all eyes are on BO records starting from April 28, and the distributors in the Telugu States are expected to strike gold, the distribution company which has bought the rights of 'Baahubali-2' for a whopping USD 7 million has said that they are not expecting high profits.
Great India Films's Soma Kancherla has been quoted saying by a national daily that the film should earn something like USD 15 Million in the crucial North American market. An exponential jump in earnings compared to the first part's business is the minimum that the distributor needs!
With a mammoth release in about 1050 screens in US and Canada put together, the magnum opus surely has much greater potential than the first part.
Also, the producers of 'Baahubali' struck the deal rather fortuitously for the mammoth price. Great India Films had admittedly missed some good films in the past because the price it quoted was not okay for the producers. And then came the 'Baahubali-2' offer, which they didn't want to lose.
