Director Sakthi Chidambaram is known for his biting satires and spoofs.

His Looty, Ennamma Kannu and Maha Nadigan are proofs of that.

The director, who is currently busy making Englishkaran starring Sathyaraj and Namitha, now is moving out of his turf and trying out new things.

"Unlike my earlier movies, Englishkaran is one with a strong message. It is a movie which would give an impetus to emancipation of women. Englishkaran would strive for equality of women. It also underlines the need to encourage youngsters to choose the career that they wish to embark on."

Sathyaraj plays a revolutionist, who struggles hard to help his wife Namitha achieve her ambition.

However, he hastens to add that the movie would have all essential ingredients of a masala potboiler. "The message has been given like a medicine laced with chocolate."

Music-director Deva, former police chief Dawaram and director Rama Narayanan are playing a cameo in the movie.

Sakthi Chidambaram has another reason to be happy. His brother's daughter has emerged the State topper in the SSLC examinations.
