North West introduced her rapper moniker during her father's recent album. The 10-year-old, daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, delighted the audience at Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign's Miami listening party as she revealed her verse from one of the new tracks.
Displaying confidence, North mimed, “I love it here / we gonna take over the year for another year / it’s your bestie, Miss Miss Westie,” to the applause of the crowd. Clad in a black oversized coat, matching T-shirt, and pants, she energetically performed her rap, “Don’t try to test me / it’s gonna get messy / just bless me.”
Her performance is part of Kanye and the "Blasé" rapper's upcoming album, “Vultures.” Fans flooded the comments praising North's musical debut, noting her talent reminiscent of her father's. Some labeled her a "musical genius," celebrating her inherited talent, style, and confidence.
While North's involvement thrilled her supporters, Kanye faced criticism for his attire, notably a hood resembling that of the Ku Klux Klan, and controversial lyrics during the event. His fashion choice and a particular lyric in one of the new tracks sparked a backlash among fans.
Commenters on social media expressed disdain for Kanye's choice of clothing, labeling it as "sick" and "disturbing." Additionally, some users accused him of antisemitism, referring to past remarks that led to repercussions from Adidas, which severed ties with the rapper-turned-fashion-designer due to comments deemed unacceptable and hateful.
Adidas issued a statement stating that they do not condone antisemitism or hate speech, emphasizing their values of diversity, inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness, which they believed Kanye's actions violated.
