Mourning the passing away of M Balamuralikrishna, the legendary Carnatic vocalist, Nandamuri Balakrishna has said, "Mangalampalli is a great singer and wonderful human being. His loss is a great loss to Indian music. He breathed music for all the life. Had the honor of meeting him sometime back. Sir, you live forever till music ends."

Mohan Babu said that it was a heart-rending news. "It is heartaching to hear about the demise of Carnatic music legend Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna. We are going to miss you and music is going to miss you. I pray for his soul to rest in peace."

Music directors and singers, especially, are devastated by his death.

SPB said, "The Avathaara of Maatha Saraswathi concluded. Went back to her HOME. I am orphaned yet again. I was shooting for 'Paaduthaa Theeyaga', the reality show. When I heard the news, I rushed back to Chennai to pay my last rites to HIM. I was dazed. Could not answer any call from TV channels and Radio stations (there were 47). My apologies. I won't say may his soul rest in peace. He was not human. He was Divine."
