The other day, at a public event in Gopalapuram village in Andhra Pradesh's Kothapeta, organizers supplied food to attendees in disposable paper plates on which BR Ambedkar's image was printed. The same was deemed insulting by many members belonging to the SC community. The police department has since filed cases against 17 SC youths alleging that they had spread misleading information on social media platforms. It has also been reported that there was an instigation to attack the venue where the event was held.
Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has questioned the move by the police to slap non-bailable cases against the SC youths. As per him, the move is extraordinary.
He advised the police not to resort to excessive steps on sensitive issues that can invite trouble. The actor-politician also urged all parties and sides to come on a platform and arrive at a consensus so that the controversy is resolved amicably. He suggested that sensitive issues shouldn't be allowed to get out of hand.
