Days after the arrest of a man who shared obscene pictures of his ex-girlfriend on social media, police have reportedly found the role of four other people involved in the matter and also determined that over 500 porn sellers and several porn sites had gained access to the woman's pictures.
The victim had approached a police station in Noida after she learned that her pictures were being circulated on social media. After registering a case under the IT act and conducting a brief investigation, the police found that her ex-boyfriend was responsible for the act. They located his location in West Bengal and arrested him with the help of the local police. "We were in touch with social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Telegram, where explicit images were shared. Twitter immediately responded and disabled all the links from its platform. At least 500 porn sellers had access to the illegal data. The probe also revealed that the accused seems to have the illegal content with around four-five people on WhatsApp," an official reportedly told a news agency.
The woman had allegedly ended her relationship with the accused over four years ago and he had shared her pictures online with the help of the other accused out of spite.
