Director Gautham Vasudev Menon had directed the movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya in 2010, starring Simbu, Trisha in lead roles, and the movie which also starred VTV Ganesh was the first movie of Gautham to have music by AR Rahman and the movie and the music turned out to be huge hits.

With the movie celebrating its 10th anniversary of release, yesterday Gautham had a live chat with his fans on Instagram, and had answered their questions. When asked about Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya 2, the director said that a lot of thoughts and writing has gone into VTV 2, and the script has lots of contributions from his friends, writers and partners and said that it will happen if Simbu gives a nod.

When asked of his choice to replace Simbu in VTV 2, Gautham responded that VTV is about Karthik, and without Simbu it cannot be made. He said that it is basically his story and only if Simbu accepts the movie, it will be made. Gautham Menon is next directing Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha.
