In his latest interview, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Cinematography Minister of Telangana, has ruled out the re-opening of cinema halls for another 2-3 months.
Speaking to FilterKaapiLive, the Minister said that "it will be a problem if we open (the theatres) now." He thinks that the public, too, would not flock to theatres even if they were to be reopened.
The government is admittedly in talks with multiplexes and single screens for the "seating order to be changed to ensure social distancing."
What about shootings? Going by Talasani's take on this, even shootings will not be allowed to commence. Even indoor TV shootings won't be permitted anytime soon. The Minister suggests that since crew members like light boys will have to travel to the shooting spot within the city and nobody can be sure whether any of them is Covid-19 positive, permitting shootings is a risky affair.
