No takers for KLJ as PKP, Haunted, SKD continue to score

It was a 'kucch bhi nahin' moment at the box office as 'Kucch Luv Jaisa' failed to gather any substantial numbers for itself despite being the sole notable release of the week. Though till a week ago one wondered why the film was being released in such a low key fashion, the content clearly conveys the reason behind that. At least now the film has come and gone and there hasn't been much heart break for many out there. Now if only it would have seen more high profile release, the bigger damage would have been difficult to control.

The film opened quite poorly at the box office with only around 1.5 crores coming on the opening weekend. Reviews too were all around terrible as there were complaints about the film right from it's plot to the overall treatment to even performances. A one week affair, it will hardly find itself in the running with 'Ready' all set to create mayhem at the box office.

As for the other release of the week, 'College Campus', it expectedly released only in select theaters in parts of the country. Such poor was the response to the film that it wasn't even reviewed by any reputed website or publication.

All of this means that yet again, older releases like 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', 'Haunted' and 'Stanley Ke Dabba' managed yet another positive week for themselves. 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' has now crossed the 7.5 crores mark in 10 days. 'Haunted' has topped 25 crores at the box office and is still counting hence turning out to be a clean hit. 'Stanley Ke Dabba' too has managed audience for itself and a low cost of making ensures that close to 6 crores that this Amol Gupte film has earned for itself makes it a coverage affair at the least.
