No stay on the release of 'Patnagarh', rules Supreme Court

'Patnagarh', directed by National award-winning and internationally-acclaimed director Rajesh Touchriver, has got a piece of good news from the Supreme Court. The apex court has refused to put a stay on the release of the sensible drama. A three-judge bench of the SC has disposed of a petition against the film. It said that the petitioner should move the Censor Board within 30 days in case she has any objection against the film.

We see no reason to entertain this petition under Article 32 of the Constitution of India in view of the statutory remedy already availed of by the petitioner. The instant writ petition is dismissed accordingly, the Court said in its order.

Cast & Crew details:

The cast of the movie includes Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni (his debut in Odia), Yashpal Sharma, Odia actor Manoj Mishra, Telugu actor Tanikella Bharani. Shiju Odia serial star Chinmay Mishra, Malayalam actor Sanju Sivaram, Odia Actress Anu Choudhury, Pushpa Panda are part of the cast. They come from different parts of the country.

George Joseph of '102 Not Out' fame is doing the music direction and popular music director RP Pattnaik, an Odia native, is composing a Sambalpuri folk song for the film. This is the first time he is composing for an Odia movie.

Patnaik had entered the film industry with a desire to become a film director, and began first as a music director. He is the music director for the Odia Sambalpuri folk fusion song in 'Patnagarh'

Ajith Abraham George (Sound Designer) is a Diploma holder in Sound Recording and Sound Engineering from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune in the year 1995. He has worked as the faculty at K.R Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts Kottayam, the first film Institute run by Government of Kerala. Also working as freelance mixing Engineer for films as well as songs. Worked in more than Five Hundred Films and Jingles in various Indian languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada, all in multi- track. Also mixed more than 6000 songs for various music directors in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu & Kannada.

Also won the prestigious Rajat Kamal (National Award) for best Audiography Non feature for the Documentary film In Return Just a Book.

Renowned award-winning and internationally-acclaimed and Kerala state Award winning make-up artist NG Roshan is taking the responsibility of the special effect makeup.

Rajiv Nayar, the award-winning art director who has done films like 'Ishq', 'Fidaa', 'Gamyam', 'Prasthanam', 'Maska' and 'Naa Bangaaru Talli' (this film won 3 national awards from the Govt of India 2014 and 4 state awards from the government of Andra Pradesh), is doing the production designing.

Dialogues are written by Ravi K Punnam and the cinematography is by international award-winning ace cinematographer JD Ram Thulasi.

Produced by Sridhar Martha of Range Royal Cine Lab, which is producing its third movie, the film is co-produced by Manoj Mishra and Padma Sree awardee Sunitha Krishnan and Atul Kulkarni. The story, screenplay and direction by Rajesh Touchriver.
