Arun Jaitley has on Wednesday sent a letter to Narendra Modi. The gist of the letter is that he won't be able to take up any cabinet responsibility in the new government for time being. The senior BJPian said that he is not in perfect health to discharge the functions of a Minister.

"I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health and therefore, not be a part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new government," Mr Jaitley wrote.

Note that Jaitley will be available a few months later. He has been put through a heavy dose of medication by his doctors for different ailments.

The finance ministry may be allocated to Piyush Goyal, who presented this financial year's budget earlier this year.
