No, it's not a love story: Selvaraghavan on 'ME'

With ‘Mayakkam Enna’ gearing up for a release tomorrow, expectations are soaring higher than ever. The theatrical trailer and the new teasers of the film have an intense appeal showing an I-hate-to-love-you sort of relationship between Richa and Dhanush along with a good dosage of humour, but Selva maintains, “No, it’s not a love story”.

Both the brothers, Selvaraghavan and Dhanush, have expressed that they do not know which genre the film falls under, for although it’s not a love story, it’s a feel good warm entertainer. Richa Gangopadhyay will be seen in a strong role, what with the megaphone being wielded by Selva, the man who brings out the best from his cast and balances his heroine’s role on par with the hero’s.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that ‘Mayakkam Enna’ is a quickie from Selva for he has wrapped this film sooner than he usually does due to the ‘simple’ nature of the plot, which is said to be a mirror of reality.

Dhanush will be seen in four stages of life and insiders vouch that ‘ME’ will be another feather in the National Award winning actor’s cap. The film will throw light on a journey in Dhanush’s life, from when he is a teenager to an old man.

Not a love story, a good dosage of comedy neatly woven into the script, intense ‘heavy-hearted’ scenes and what not... well the suspense is building on what ‘Mayakkam Enna’ is all about!

Whatever it may be, we can be sure of an entertainer from the brothers who have always graced Tamil cinema with different ventures, especially when together and the success of ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’, ‘Kadhal Kondein’ and ‘Pudhupettai’ stand testimony to it...
