The current trend in the Tamil industry has been making new films with older and well established titles. Such films have been released among all kinds of comments. Ilayathalapathy Vijay's next film with director AL Vijay was said to be titled with the old Rajini movie "Thangamagan". The responses to this news was both good and opposed. "Thangamagan" has Vijay starring in the lead role while Amala Paul pairs up with him for the first time.

Sources say that Vijay has said a strict no to re-using old titles regardless of whose film that was. So, the producer Chandra Parakash Jain and director AL Vijay are putting their heads together to come up with a fresh and never used before title for Vijay's next film.
