No Ganesh fest at Hadonahalli, Tragedy of last year

The omnipresent Lord Ganesha festival was celebrated all over on last 25th, but not at Hadonahalli village in Shivamogga district because of last year tragedy that snatched 12 youths at the immersion time at Thungabhadra River. It was undeclared ban on the festival at this village as the disturbance is unforgettable.

All religion people were celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi for a long time. In this year the village of 2300 people not even one house conducted the festival.

At eight places in public and hundreds of house used to celebrate the Ganesha festival. Three days festival was celebrated at this place. The plays, music and cultural activities was in full zoom at this Hadonahalli till last year.

Last year tragedy from a boat capsizes taken the life of 12 youths at the immersion time. People have not come out from the tragedy yet.

Shekarappa family one of the few families struck with this tragedy was offered Rs.5000 cheque for final rites. The cheque of the government bounced three times so far.
