For the call given by Apex Body, KFCC to abstain from release of films on 9th of March, eight producers lined up their films for release have agreed for Sa Ra Govindu President of KFCC.
This stopping of films is to teach a lesson to the UFO and QUBE system of screening. The reduction in 25 percent of tariff was not heard and the advertisement revenue share for producers from UFO and QUBE screening has gone to deaf ears
The films such as Yogi Duniya, Dandupalya 3, O Premave, Nanagishta, Mukyamantri Kaladodnappo, Higondu Dina, Idam Premam Jeevanam were set for release on 9th of March. The respective producers were at the KFCC meeting on Saturday. Once the problem is solved they will be allowed to go on for release on 16th of March, the films schedule for 16th of March move to next week.
The reason is excessive price structure by UFO and Qube. The demand of film industries in South is that they should reduce by 25 percent and give a share from the advertisement revenue they earn from the film screening.
The KFCC is making alternative arrangements for screening in case UFO and QUBE do not budge. A few operators in the field have come forward to the new system. In the case of 60 plus multiplex screens there is no problem but in single screens when private individual comes up the theatres have to invest on projector and server.
KFCC members MG Ramamurthy, NM Suresh, Praveen Kumar, producers TP Siddaraju, Thanush, Shivakumar, Manoj and others were present at the media briefing.
