It has been claimed by sections of media that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has given a clean chit to Bollywood's Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor in the drugs case. The trio was questioned last week separately in Mumbai.
The latest reports on Wednesday have claimed that NCB has refuted the 'clean chit' reports. A national media house has quoted an NCB official as saying that the reports are bereft of truth.
The mobile phones of a couple of the aforementioned actors were seized by the anti-drugs body after their interrogation was over. Their WhatsApp chats and other records will be closely examined by the forensic department.
It may be noted that, during the last week's questioning, Deepika allegedly told the NCB that the words 'maal' and 'hash' were used by her in a WhatsApp chat pertaining to 2017 to mean cigarettes. "They are code words," she is reported to have told the interrogators.
