Nivin Pauly's upcoming movie Kayamkulam Kochunni, directed by Roshan Andrews, was announced back in August 2016. As the team has been maintaining silence about the project and the Premam actor being occupied with several other projects, speculations have been doing the rounds that the movie is dropped.

However, in a recent interview, Nivin confirmed that the much-awaited project will go on floors very soon. Reportedly, Kayamkulam Kochunni will start rolling immediately after Nivin completes his current project, Moothon, directed by Geetu Mohandas.

The actor will be shedding few kilos for and also learn Kerala's ancient martial art form Kalari Payattu. The movie which is based on the Kayamkulam Kochunni stories, in Aithihyamala, is scripted by the duo Bobby-Sanjay, who have been researching for over 2 years for the movie.

The movie is said to feature the love life of Kayamkulam Kochunni and a debutante will essay the female lead. Produced by Gokulan Gopalan, for Sree Gokulam Films, the movie's music will be done by Kabali music director Santhosh Narayanan and sound designing by Baahubali sound designer Satheesh. The movie will be shot at the various locations of Kayamkulam and Sri Lanka. Stay tuned for further updates!.
