Nivin Pauly's 'Moothon' wins best film award!

As reported earlier, actress Geethu Mohandas' directorial ‘Moothon’ was screened at FFAST, South Asian film festival in Paris last week. The latest is that the movie has won the best film and jury prize award at the film festival. Nivin Pauly who played the lead in the movie shared the happy news on his Instagram page. "Moothon has won the best film and jury prize at the prestigious FFAST in Paris! Congrats @geetu_mohandas !! You deserve all the accolades! Congrats to our entire team!! This is truly an honour!! ❤️??," Nivin wrote.
Nivin also shared another post revealing that the movie was premiered at the Goteborg film festival in Sweden. "#Moothon has premiered at the prestigious @gbgfilmfestival in Sweden. Indeed this is a proud moment for Malayalam cinema!," Nivin Pauly wrote.
Moothon, that has won accolades in several other film International festivals, was premiered at the Mumbai Film Festival as well before it was theatrically released on November 8, 2019.
Moothon' directed by Geetu Mohandas, is arguably the first homosexual love story in Malayalam. The film followed the journey of a kid in search of her older sibling who left his hometown many years ago under mysterious circumstances. The bilingual film was shot mostly on the islands of Lakshadweep, where the story is based.
The movie starred Nivin Pauly, Rosshan, Sanjana Dipu and Dileesh Pothan in lead roles. 'Moothon' marked Nivin's transformation into a versatile performer and gave out a bold statement, which was welcomed by the Kerala audience as well.
