2016 is half way through. All box office reports state that undoubtedly Nivin is the money maker of Malayalam industry just like the previous year.

Action Hero Biju was Nivin's first release of the year which emerged as the highest grosser of the year so far. The movie collected Rs30 crore worldwide. AHB was directed by Abrid Shine after the huge success of his 2014 Nivin starrer 1983.

Later Vineeth Sreenivasan once again joined hands with Nivin for another blockbuster, Jacobinte Swargarajyam. It grabbed 25 crores worldwide and still running in few centres.

The story was similar in 2015 as well. Premam with a worldwide collection of 65 crore became the second highest grosser ever in the history of Malayalam cinema after Mohanlal's Drishyam. Oru Vadakkan Selfie emerged as the fourth highest grosser of the year with a collection of 23 crore worldwide.

In 2016 Nivin is ruling the box office and television ratings keeping other actors way behind. He has even broken the record set by Mohanlal with a number of consecutive highest grossing movies in account.

Incontrovertibly Nivin is the money machine of Mollywood. With three more releases in his bag for the year, including Sidhartha Siva and Althaf's untitled Malayalam projects and Gautham Ramachandran's Tamil film, we can hope that Nivin will keep the ball rolling in the box office.
