As reported earlier, senior actor Babu Antony will be playing the role of Kochunni's mentor Thangal in the movie Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly in the lead. As the movie, which is directed by Roshan Andrews is expected to start rolling by October 2017, the actor is all busy preparing for the role by learning Kerala's historic martial art Kalaripayattu. Interestingly, the actor is taking up classes along with Nivin Pauly and Sunny Wayne. Babu Antony has shared a picture on his social media page with Nivin Pauly during a recent training session.
"Me and Nivin taking a break during a "Kalarippayattu "workshop for the film "Kayamkulam Kocchuni" at Director Roshan Andrews Martial arts School in Cochin, It was very nice of Nivin to reveal that he has been a huge fan of me and he used to keep pictures of mine in his note books. It is nice of Roshan Adrews to start martial arts school in Kerala," wrote Babu Antony.
Scripted by the duo Bobby-Sanjay and produced by Gokulam Gopalan, for Sree Gokulam Films, 'Kayamkulam Kochunni' will also have Amala Paul, Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath Kumar and Kannada actress Priyanka Thimmesh in pivotal roles. Though there have been many versions of Kochunni's life stories, the upcoming venture will explore on how Kochunni turned out to be a rebel from a common man. The movie's music will be done by Kabali music director Santhosh Narayanan and sound designing by Baahubali sound designer Satheesh.
