Earlier today, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced that he would be boycotting the upcoming Niti Aayog Governing Council meeting on Sunday. This is meant to protest the Modi government's allegedly biased attitude towards Telangana.
Niti Ayog put out a statement giving a strong counter to KCR. It stated facts to dispel the lies peddled by the Telangana CM. The Ayog reminded that a delegation led by Vice Chairman NITI Aayog met KCR in Hyderabad on Jan 21 last year to discuss development issues pertaining to Telangana. "More recently, despite requests made by NITI Aayog for a meeting, the Chief Minister did not respond," the Ayog said.
It added that the Centre allocated Rs. 3,982 Cr under the Jal Jeevan Mission for Telangana since 2018. It is Telangana's fault that it withdrew only Rs. 200 Cr.
As much as Rs 1,195 Cr was released to Telangana under PMKSY-AIBP-CADWM during 2014-2015 to 2021-2022, the Ayog stated.
