Editor-turned-director MS Raja Shekhar Reddy is waiting for the theatrical release of 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' on August 12. Meanwhile, he is in the thick of a controversy, which Nithiin is suggesting is needless. From a Twitter handle that is closely named after the director's Twitter handle, abusive tweets targeting two caste groups deemed unfriendly towards the ruling YCP party have been doing the rounds.
Nithiin, the hero of the film, has clarified that the tweets were not made by his director at all. While Reddy is a YCP fan, he never abused Kammas and Kapus, as it appears from the clarificatory posts made by the 'Rang De' actor.
"Fake tweet by a fake person has created an unnecessary fuss. Unfortunately, this has hurt the sentiment of others. VERY SAD and DISAPPOINTING. I CONDEMN this kind of FALSE PROPAGANDA," the 'Check' and 'Bheeshma' actor tweeted.
In the days of WhatsApp and rampant rumour-mongering on social media, it has to be seen whether the director will be able to convince the public at large that lies have been spread.
Meanwhile, the trailer of 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' will drop on July 30.
